About Jennifer Perna

Jennifer Perna started Fulton Market Consulting in May, 2017 after developing an event experience and sales management portfolio for over 25 years in the Chicago catering and special events industry. Jennifer coaches various hospitality-related owners, managers and leaders on growing their sales revenue while also increasing bottom line profitability. Besides providing new ideas on leadership, management, business development and sales strategies, Jennifer also provides valuable insight on culinary, operations, finance, human resources and general management practices. This is especially imperative as we continue to manage a diverse and talented pool of employees in the ever-changing work environment today. Jennifer brings a dynamic, approachable and relatable communication style to all levels and members of the team.

Prior to starting her business, Jennifer was the Vice President of Sales at Blue Plate Catering from August, 2008 thru April, 2017. Jennifer thrived in her position, leading a team of 32 dynamic sales and production associates generating annual revenue exceeding $27 million in off-premise catering sales. During her tenure, she spearheaded a 167% increase in revenue while also increasing bottom line profitability. She mentored, supported and coached the team both logistically and creatively on all events from concept to execution.

Jennifer is a passionate and involved member of the International Caterers Association (ICA) where she recently completed her eighth year on the Executive Board (President-Elect, President, Past-President and President’s Council Chair).  She will continue her involvement with the ICA as a Vendor Member.  She also holds a board seat on the Catersource Advisory Council. She is a proud graduate of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, where she happily returns to Ithaca, NY each year to teach a class on Catering and Special Events.
